How would you describe the character you play in “Adults?”
Billie is someone who’s always been the top of her class and a high achiever and now she’s finding herself in a position where she’s not longer those things, so she has to figure out who she is without those parts of herself that she’s always tied to her identity. Shes someone who, if she’s doing something, she’s doing it 100%. She takes her job as seriously as she takes dating as she takes her stoned food order. She’ll do drugs, but only if they’ve been tested.

You’ve played a wide range of characters, what was it that drew you to working on “Adults?”
I found the script genuinely, laugh out loud funny - which doesn’t happen very often!

Was there a particular scene in “Adults” that was challenging for you as an actress?
The most challenging thing was trying to not laugh while filming. There’s a particular scene in episode six, where Issa comes downstairs in an absurd outfit and I have to ask her, with a straight face “did you change?” It took a few takes to get through that without breaking.

Do you have any memorable or unexpected moments from being on the set of “Adults” that have stuck with you?
When we filmed the dance at the end of episode 7, they really let us just go for it. We decided that our goal was to make Malik, who is sitting on the couch watching us in the scene, break with the absurdity of our dance moves. At one point Jack was spinning so much that he had to go lie down so he didn’t throw up.

You starred in the off-Broadway production “The Wanderers.” How does the experience of performing on stage compare to acting in a television series?
When you’re working on a tv show you’re constantly working on different, new material, whereas in a play you’re mining the same material each night and trying to maintain the newness and find the spontaneity. But i was surprised how similarity the two felt, in that both experiences centred around an ensemble of five actors who became not only wonderful collaborators but incredible friends.

Are there any actors, writers or filmmakers you’re hoping to collaborate with in the future?
I hope at some point we get to meet each of the Adults characters parents. I think Steve Carell would be an incredible Dad to Billie, and it’s a dream of mine to work with him!

What themes in “Adults” do you think the audiences will connect with?
The feeling of being lost and flailing in your twenties but having your friends to catch you. To me, the  scene at the end of the pilot embodies that. That really feels like the thesis of the whole show.

What do you hope audiences will take away from watching “Adults?”
While it is edgy, I do think there’s a lot of wholesomeness to the friendships in the show. If it can become a new comfort show for even one person, I’d be happy!
