Lulu Wilson
Lulu Wilson, an American actress, is known mainly for her roles in horror films, most notably “Ouija: Origin of Evil” (2016) and “Annabelle: Creation” (2017), as well as the television series adaptation of “The Haunting of Hill House” (2018). She started acting when she was 4 in commercials but her theatrical debut was in the film “DELIVER US FROM EVIL” (directed by Scott Derrickson) when she was 6. Lulu is soon to start in the second installation of the “Becky” franchise “The Wrath of Becky.”

What is it like being a child actor growing up in Hollywood?
I have always tried to balance “Hollywood” life with living as close to a normal life as possible and I honestly don’t think I’m doing a half bad job. I went to a regular, old school for as long as possible and I spend as much time with friends and family as I can. Plus, I babysit when my schedule is not super intense. But to answer your question, I’m having a blast so far!
What character has been your favorite to portray?
Katie/”Modern Love.” She is the truest to life and honest character that I have had the honor of playing. I think a lot of people, including myself, can relate to her.
Is it difficult acting in horror films? What was your biggest challenge when portraying these characters?
I always have loads of fun working on horror sets. Physically, it can be a huge challenge and I’m not going to lie, it can be complicated reacting honestly to special effects that aren’t even completed until postproduction! All that aside, horror films will always have a soft spot in my heart.

How did you prepare for your role in “Wrath of Becky?”
I trained with my fencing coach who is also a stunt person and coordinator. We worked for months on Becky’s physicality and weaponry. Plus, as pathetic as it sounds, I finally mastered a forward roll. Still can’t make it happen backwards but one can always dream.
When pursuing horror acting, do you ever feel fear on set?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Once I am on set I have read the script a zillion times and know exactly what is in store for me.
Who and what inspired you to become an actor?
I would be lying if I said something inspired me. Truth be told I was just born this way.
Who is your celebrity crush?
That’s a no brainer: Ryan Gosling and Elliot Paige.

Do you feel a connection or do you resonate with your character Becky Hopper in “The Wrath of Becky?”
YES. I AM A VERY ANGRY TEENAGE GIRL. The wrath is real, people.
What is your favorite aspect of being on set?
Crafty, of course. Oh, and I love learning from all of the people around me. It is incredible how many people it takes to make movie magic.
If you could pick another career, what would it be?
Olympic fencer or an investigative journalist like my idol, Louis Theroux.

What is your advice to young adults wanting to be actors?
Don’t do it for glamour or you will be sorely disappointed. It’s a hard ass job that just looks flashy.

A western, duh
